2024 NT Triples Championships
Nightcliff Bowls Club hosted the 2024 Triples Championship with teams playing in hot and windy conditions which made for a challenging weekend.
The ladies saw Bronwyn Hagger, Sheree Dempsey and Shirley Campbell win their semi-final over Tania Humphris, Julie Cadd and Jodie Reichstein 23/10, and Elisa Rigoni, Anita Rhook, and Karen Lane winning a tight match over Colleen Orr, Siobhan Tootell, and Sez James 13/10 in a game that went down to the last bowl.
In the final Elisa Rigoni’s team were able to stay in front until the end winning 16/11 in a great match playing in difficult conditions.
The men’s Triples saw Mark Halls team that included Jono Carr and Prakesh Kaylan, all fresh from their NT Fours win earlier this month, win their semi-final over previous winning trio: Peter Wibberley, Allan Bell, and Mal Trattles 16/5.
Newcomer to the NT Mitch Jackson teamed with Barry Orr and Dimitri Hnaris to win their semi-final over 2023 Arms Open winner Vic Kendell who teamed with Geoff Hunter and Greg Lawler 14/8.
The final was a hard-fought match with Jackson’s trio able to maintain a slim lead throughout to finally win in a match that could have gone either way. The final result was 17/13.
